Silver + Spirit: ISHKA Hill tribe Jewellery
Hill tribe jewellery is named after village tribes that have long been nestled in the mountains of Northern Thailand, with roots that can be traced back to the 12th century.
Most hill tribe villagers are refugees from the neighbouring countries of China, Tibet and Burma, and belong to one of six major tribes: Akha, Hmong, Karen, Lahu, Lawa and Lisu. Each hill tribe has their own language, colourful style of dress and distinct culture.
Handcrafted in the Chiang Mai region north of Thailand, ISHKA hill tribe jewellery is produced by over 200 local village silversmiths who bring their own set of skills to the jewellery crafting process. These skilled craftsmen take many years perfecting their silver-working skills, passing traditional methods of hand-tooling down from generation-to-generation, with each unique design a creative reflection of hill tribe life and culture.
Featuring beautiful geometric designs and nature-inspired artwork reflective of a strong connection with earth, spirit and culture, our stunning hill tribe jewellery range is perfect for every wanderlusting goddess.
