Indigenous art is a sacred form of storytelling. Captivating in their vibrancy and ancient symbolism, Aboriginal artworks convey a deep connection to the land, and express indigenous wisdom and beliefs. As there was no written language for Aboriginal people, symbols were used over thousands of years to pass important cultural stories down through the generations.

At ISHKA, we recognise not only the inherent beauty of indigenous art, but its cultural and spiritual significance. This is why we are very proud to release an exclusive collection of scarves featuring original artwork by Aboriginal artist Stan Yarramunua. And who better to showcase this incredible range of scarves than Stan's very own daughters! 

Delicately handpainted and digitally printed on soft viscose fabric, this collection features four original scarf designs. Each is inspired by traditional Aboriginal culture and represents a spiritual connection to the land. 

Emu on the Milky Way

In Aboriginal culture, the emu represents freedom and the kangaroo represents wisdom. This artwork depicts an emu and kangaroo coming together on a spiritual journey. 

Goanna - Journey for Love

This original design depicts the goanna, that represents journey, and the turtle, that represents love. Here, the goanna and the turtle come together to protect the water in the Milky Way.

The Land

In Aboriginal culture, the emu represents journey, the turtle - love, the platypus - wisdom, and the fish - freedom. This artwork shows a coming together of these animals to protect all life-sustaining water on earth.
